Mentoring Programs
Community-BasedIn the Community-Based program, enjoyable activities are shared ranging from crafts to sports, reading to fishing, cooking to movies. Volunteers coordinate plans with the parent/guardian and pick the child up from their home for these outings. Volunteers commit to getting together with the child at least twice a month.
|
School-BasedIn the School-Based program, volunteers visit their Little Brother/Sister for up to one hour each week at the child's school. Matches work on school work, eat lunch together, play games, enjoy crafts or simply talk. Contact is limited to the school facility.

Match SupportIn both Community-Based and School-Based programs, professional staff recruit, enroll, interview, and provide on-going case management for volunteers, parents and youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters maintains contact with all parties of the match on a monthly basis during the first year of the match and quarterly thereafter. Staff is always available to address questions or concerns, acting as a liaison between volunteer, parent/guardian and the child
